MAJOR LANCE - AIN'T NO SOUL (LEFT IN THESE OLD SHOES)

Am I a sucker for puns? Check. Chicago soul? check check. Major Lance? check check CHECK!

Behold, all 3 three traits are found in this very 45. Although one could argue that since this was recorded in NYC it's not a true Chicago soul record, my argument would be that Major Lance simply is the epitome of Chicago soul, no matter WHERE he recorded.

Off to MOD Chicago!

Major, if there ain't no soul left in your old shoes, you need to be Barefootin' or you'll find yourself with The Walkin' Blues and one day find yourself leaving the Sock Hop muttering under your breath "I have to Hang Up My Rock and Roll Shoes."
